Corbin Shaw and Alasdair McLellan 'Which Way Now'

"Which Way Now" is a short film by artist Corbin Shaw and photographer Alasdair McLellan. I went to the premier at the Institute of Contemporary Arts. In the short film, Corbin interviewed boys aged 15-25 from around South Yorkshire area. He asked the boys simple questions about hopes, dreams, aspirations and how they are coping to escape from the mundane. He also asked questions like what cologne do they wear and their favourite love song. I really enjoyed seeing how they answer the questions differently. Such as when asked about their dreams some of them spoke about the actual dreams they have when asleep and some talked about future dreams. I also really like the Love song question. You could really see that some of the boys were really tensing up and slightly uncomfortable with the question and some of them were really open and expressive with their answers. The film was filled with humour and funny moments. The filming was really nice. The colours were really saturated and vibrant. It was filmed during summer so the sky was blue and had a really nice feel. I think that carbons work really speaks to me as we were brought up in similar style 'working' towns. I like how he explores masculinity and dives into peoples emotions and experiences.
